Missions Journey to South Africa

Missions Journey to South Africa

November 2009

The goal of this trip will be outreach to villages with a focus on ministry to children and AIDS outreach/ministry.

And he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

(NLT) Mark 16:15!

Dear Family and Friends
Can you imagine a life without electricity, water, sanitation or the basic necessities most of us take for granted? Can you imagine a land where the average age life expectancy is only 46 years of age? We would like to share with you a challenging opportunity God has presented to us.
November 13-22, 2009, we will be traveling to the southeastern coast of South Africa, the city of East London with a very special team. We have two ministries that we are going to share with the people of South Africa.

Mission 1
One of our target missions is the community of Mzamomhle, (Ma-mom-shlay) on the outskirts of East London. It is an informal settlement or squatter’s camp of around 40,000. Child-headed households and orphans are prevalent due to widespread diseases. The camp has approximately 600, one (1) room concrete block houses, but the rest of the population live in shanties made of scrap wood, metal, or cardboard. Our primary goal in this community is to provide basic medical treatment for the people of Mzamomhle who suffer from AIDS, TB and waterborne illnesses.

Mission 2
The boys’ home – Sahk’ingomso is a government-run home for twenty boys aged 9-18 who have been taken off the streets. These boys are abandoned, at risk, and have little hope for the future. Many have histories of abuse and drug use. Many of them are HIV positive. We are going to service in repairs and recondition the dwelling where they reside. We will also minister to the boys after school through sharing the gospel, mentoring, converting an abandoned yard into a soccer field, and resurfacing a concrete slab for a basketball court.

We are excited about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead. At this time we need to raise $4,400.00 each to attend this trip, and that’s quite a challenge for two. If you could support us in any way financially, we would be very grateful.

We will also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God’s leading in our ministry in South Africa.

If you would like to be part of this mission through your financial support, we have included an envelope for you to use. Please make checks payable to CHET’S CREEK CHURCH and write “South Africa” on the memo line. All contributions are tax deductible.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your prayers and financial support.

God Bless
Bill & Amy Bull
