South African Mission Meeting Recap

Mission Shirts: Jobi, we're speechless about the shirts............Thank you from all of us!!!!!

Cut-a-Thon : Things are in full swing with the mission’s cut-a-thon. This event is scheduled for Sunday September 20, 2009. Hours are between 1pm and 6pm. All of us have been given flyer's to hand out to persons or places that don’t go to Chets Creek Church.

Passports : make sure you make two (2) copies of your passport and bring them to the next meeting. Also, please email Heather with a copy of your passport for the files.

Personal contributions/support: All members should have approx $1,500.00 dollars in their accounts as of this meeting. The remaining balance for the mission should in your accounts no later than October 1, 2009.

Suit cases and Baggage: Each member should plan on taking two (2) large suit cases. One (1) for your personal belongings and the other for medical supplies. As the date draws closer, we’ll schedule a “packing” party for all of Ana’s supplies.

Ministry and Missions: Gonubie Baptist - Wonderful news here. The medical team and others might have an opportunity to access the school within the squatter’s camp. With any situation, there are unknowns and possible risks. However, we have assembled a well balanced and strong team to overcome these potential challenges. So Pray, Pray, Pray for us to gain access to the school and the possibility ministry within.

The boys’ home : Sahkingomso. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, this portion of the mission trip is probably not going to happen. Due to governmental cut backs, it appears that they are closing the home. Let’s all join in special prays that all the children/boys from the home will be able to find another home, or be placed in another government run home so that they won’t be thrown back on the streets.

Mark your calendars: Friday October 2, 2009 Dinner at Gwen and Andy’s House.

Embrace and relish the spiritual journey while in preparation for this mission. People’s lives will be changed by our actions, both here and abroad.

In His Service,

Bill Bull
